blank canvas

blank canvas is a shared page built from a mind that does not empty.

A thought arrives. Then another. Then five more, already talking over the first. Here, thoughts become matter. They fall before they can be arranged. They land on whatever is already there and change its shape.

You may put something here. Other people may put something here too. For a moment, the room can hold still. Then another thought arrives and everything has to make room again.

You may break what is already here. That is the only way to make space. A broken word becomes letters. Letters become dust. Dust becomes the floor.

Eventually there is no air left for another thought. The room seals and becomes a layer underneath the next one. The words remain anonymously. The names do not.

That mind is mine. This is not an account of anyone else's.

Bring a thought. Leave a trace. Help make room.

HOW THE ROOM WORKS

Choose a name, type a thought into the line at the bottom, press Enter. The words fall into the page and land on whatever is already there. They stay where they land.

Tap a word to break it. It comes apart into letters, the letters wear down into dust, and the dust settles into the floor. Breaking is how room is made. Hold a word instead to see who said it, the sentence it came from, and when it arrived.

The dust never leaves. As more is said the floor rises and the air above it gets smaller. When the page is crowded, anyone can draw through the words to sweep a handful of them away at once.

A crowded page can also be closed early, but that takes two people: one asks, and someone else here agrees. Either way the page seals and settles below the next one, keeping the words and not the names.

Most thoughts are graphite. Some arrive in coloured ink, and now and then one is alive and will not sit still. The colour belongs to the thought, never to the person who had it.

To visit the pages underneath, scroll down through the floor. On a phone, pull the floor down with two fingers. Down there you are alone.

You do not need to keep it tidy. Add what arrives. The page will carry what it can, then make a place for what comes next.
